I am Rose Ann Victor. I am a mental health and CBT practitioner offering therapy and mental health support.

Growing up today is tough. Life throws challenges at you.

You’re struggling, not being listened to, and you’re tired…..

The rate of both children and adults facing mental health challenges is rising and young people are facing a mental health crisis.[1]

Whether you want to understand more about how you’re feeling, get information, ask for support or you are looking for therapy, as a mental health practitioner, I can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to talk.

Together we can discuss risk factors that may be affecting what you are going through, as well as protective factors that can strengthen your resilience. Protective factors can include your individual social and emotional skills and attributes, as well as positive social interactions, education, work and community cohesion.

My mental health support and therapy interventions work by identifying your individual, social and structural determinants of mental health, and then intervening to reduce risks, build resilience and establish supportive environments for mental health. Working collaboratively, in a person-centred manner, we will use a biopsychosocial approach and cognitive behavioural therapy.

What is good mental health?

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO)[1], mental health is a state of mental wellbeing that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realise their abilities, learn well and work well. It is an integral component of health and wellbeing, and includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is a basic human right.

Mental health is more than the absence of mental disorders. It exists on a complex continuum, which is experienced differently each one of us, with varying degrees of difficulty and distress and potentially very different outcomes.

Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Over the course of your life, if you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood, and behaviour could be affected.

As your mental health practitioner, we can work together using the therapeutic approaches I offer to address whatever challenges you may be experiencing.
